This research examines how deep learning is implemented in Social Studies (IPS) classes at SMP Negeri 28 Pontianak through a qualitative descriptive design. Data on classroom processes, student activities, and the experiences of teachers and students were gathered via observations and interviews. Analysis followed three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results reveal that the approach is reflected in group discussions, analysis of social problems, student presentations, utilization of the surrounding environment, and digital media. Such activities motivate students to take an active role, relate IPS topics to everyday life, and deepen their understanding of social phenomena. The study concludes that deep learning can support IPS classes that are more active, meaningful, and contextual.
