This study examines the implementation of the Tartil method in tahsin learning at Darul Ulum Islamic Boarding School and its role in supporting students’ Qur’anic reading quality. Using a descriptive qualitative case study design, the researchers purposively selected participants from school leaders, tahsin teachers, and students. Data were collected through observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation and were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that Tartil-based tahsin learning was implemented through gradual instruction, teacher modeling, repetition, direct correction, and continuous evaluation. These practices were associated with better application of tajwid, makhārij al-ḥurūf, and reading fluency. The study also identified several challenges, including limited learning facilities, differences in students’ abilities, limited teacher availability, and variations in students’ concentration. The findings highlight the importance of structured guidance and continuous evaluation in Qur’anic learning.
