The reliability and availability of industrial equipment are essential for production continuity and the development of effective maintenance strategies. This study aimed to analyze the performance of Nordson ProBlue 4 hot-melt adhesive application systems using Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), Mean Time To Repair (MTTR), and availability indicators. The research was classified as applied, descriptive, and exploratory, adopting a quantitative case study approach involving seven production lines at an industrial facility. Historical maintenance records covering July 2025 to June 2026 were analyzed, comprising 329 recorded events and 7,702.83 minutes of downtime. The results showed an overall MTBF of 118.23 hours, an average downtime per event of 23.41 minutes, used as an estimate of MTTR, and an overall availability of 99.67%. Production line L102 exhibited the lowest MTBF, at 36.54 hours, accounting for 151 recorded events. Pareto analysis revealed that nozzle and filter clogging and adhesive carbonization accounted for 45.19% of total downtime. As an improvement measure, an automatic heater shutdown function was implemented after 45 consecutive minutes of production line inactivity to reduce unnecessary thermal exposure of the adhesive. However, the effectiveness of this measure has not yet been quantitatively evaluated. The results demonstrate that combining reliability indicators with Pareto analysis allows for more effective prioritization of maintenance actions, contributing to the continuous improvement of production processes.
