The interaction of the comet’s tail with the plasma of the zodiacal cloud has been studied. The possibility of excitation of dust ion acoustic waves has been considered. It has been shown that dust ion acoustic waves are excited because of the development of linear hydrodynamic instability. The processes of development of dust ion acoustic turbulence, which is considered from the standpoint of strong turbulence, have been investigated. The energy density of oscillations, the effective collision frequency, and the electric fields arising in the system have been determined. The obtained effective collision frequency should be considered when writing hydrodynamic equations for dusty plasma ions, taking into account its turbulent heating in the region of interaction of the comet’s tail with the plasma of the zodiacal cloud.
