The rise of social media has made the exposure of personal image a central phenomenon in society, directly impacting the perception of one’s own appearance and influencing decisions about aesthetic procedures, such as facial harmonization. The popularization of digital filters, selfies, and marketing by influencers and professionals has increased the search for idealized beauty standards. However, factors such as safety, trust in the professional, and ethical disclosure also influence the decision, potentially generating both benefits and unrealistic expectations for patients. Given the above, the study’s overall objective is to investigate how digital self-image, influenced by social media, impacts the decision to undergo facial harmonization procedures. The methodology adopted for this study follows the basic principles of qualitative research. Documentary and bibliographic analysis was used for data collection, including scientific articles, dissertations, theses, and official publications. This technique allows for the survey, selection, and critical examination of previously published content. Therefore, it can be concluded that the decision to seek facial harmonization procedures does not occur in isolation or solely for personal reasons, but is deeply linked to digital culture, exposure to unattainable standards, and the influence of media figures. Keywords: Self-image. Social media. Facial harmonization. Digital filters.
