Genome assembly reveals two haplotypes in Coenonympha gardetta, indicating its genetic structure and complexity.
<ns3:p>We present a genome assembly from a female specimen of <ns3:italic>Coenonympha gardetta</ns3:italic> (Alpine Heath; Arthropoda; Insecta; Lepidoptera; Nymphalidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 500.33 megabases and 474.74 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (99.65%) is scaffolded into 29 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the Z sex chromosome. Haplotype 2 was assembled to scaffold level. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 15.29 kilobases.</ns3:p>
