Analysis reveals key challenges in quality control of dietary supplements in Tatarstan, suggesting improvements through digitalization and increased cooperation.
The article examines the specifics of regional policy in the field of quality control of dietary supplements (DS) using the Republic of Tatarstan as a case study. It analyzes existing oversight mechanisms, institutional interaction between government bodies, scientific organizations, and civil society. The main problems identified include the limited legal status of DS, insufficient laboratory infrastructure, weak sanction mechanisms, and difficulties in monitoring online trade. Promising areas for development are discussed — digitalization, the creation of competence centers, the implementation of voluntary certification, and increasing consumer awareness. The article concludes that there is a need to establish a unified federal system for monitoring DS quality and to strengthen interregional cooperation. The experience of the Republic of Tatarstan is proposed as a model for improving oversight in other regions of the Russian Federation.
