Overview highlights challenges in human EMF exposure standards, suggesting crucial safety research needs.
This paper provides an overview of standardization activities and scientific studies related to the assessment of human exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMF). The paper discusses standards related to exposure to EMF of high frequencies (above 100 kHz) as well as related standards for product compliance. An analysis of standards in medical and non-medical cases of human EMF exposure was performed. Finally, future research directions and research needs for safety in the domain of human EMF exposure are summarized.
