Filtration refining improves mechanical properties of VZh-159 alloy by 4-15% while reducing non-metallic inclusions.
It is shown that melt filtration is an effective way to reduce the number of non-metallic inclusions in the melt and increase the level of mechanical properties in a finished casting. The melting of the experimental melt of the VZh-159 alloy with a casting through a double foam ceramic filter has been carried out. It was established that the application of the filtration technology to the VZh-159 alloy makes it possible to clean the metal from large oxide non-metallic inclusions and improve the complex of mechanical properties of a workpiece by 4-15%.
