Case report identifies sebaceous carcinoma, suggesting improved recognition and treatment strategies.
Sebaceous carcinoma in situ is a rare, under-recognized entity with architectural features of an in situ carcinoma but cytological features of a malignancy. We describe a case report of a 69-year-old man who presented with a lesion over the left upper eyelid which upon histopathological and immunohistochemical examination was diagnosed as sebaceous carcinoma in situ . This case report via its critical literature review and histopathological and immunohistochemical examination will bring to light this entity called sebaceous carcinoma in situ as a valid concept so that it is correctly diagnosed, studied, and treated accordingly.
