This article provides an overview of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) adoption among small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Azerbaijan. It highlights the current low usage levels, along with the main benefits - such as integrated operations, cost savings, and better decisionmaking - that motivate forward-thinking SMEs to implement ERP solutions. At the same time, it explores the substantial challenges these firms face, including financial constraints, organizational readiness, and cultural barriers. Case studies are presented to illustrate successful adoption stories in different industries, while a comparative perspective situates Azerbaijan among its regional peers and global developing economies. The article concludes by emphasizing the potential for broader ERP uptake as government programs, international organizations, and local tech providers step in to support digital transformation. References to specific OECD, EBRD, and local market reports underscore the broader policy context guiding SME digitalization efforts
