Draft genome reveals important coding sequences in Bacillus cereus, indicating potential industrial applications.
Bacillus cereus is a Gram-positive, rod-shaped, spore-forming soil bacterium with a natural ability to produce industrially valuable enzymes. Here, we report the 5,132,550 bp genome (35.15% G + C) of Bacillus cereus SBI_SS06_AR_BD, containing a total of 5,220 coding sequences, 27 tRNA genes, and 3 rRNA genes—an alpha-amylase and lipase-producing strain from Bangladesh.
