WKS 9: Co-Designing Global Indicators for Ethnicity and Migration Health: Overcoming Political and Practical Obstacles, Auditório B1 (FCSH), September 3, 2025, 17:00 - 18:00 Background Accurate ethnicity and migration health data are vital for addressing health inequities. Global consensus on minimum indicators faces political and practical challenges. This workshop uses co-design and design thinking, drawing on Australian and German experiences, to advance a unified approach, acknowledging existing barriers. Objectives Workshop Plan This workshop utilises a “Define, Ideate, Prototype, Action” design thinking framework. Participants will: Projected Outcomes Participants will gain a shared understanding of global ethnicity and migration health data challenges/opportunities. Outcomes include developing at least three actionable prototype strategies for data collection or advocacy, refined by peer feedback. A collaboratively designed roadmap, outlining concrete steps for an international movement to advance equitable health outcomes through improved data, will also be a key deliverable, identifying stakeholders and implementation timelines.
