Theoretical framework redefines social conflicts as structural outcomes; highlighting cognitive hierarchy implications.
Short Abstract This paper proposes a theoretical framework that redefines social conflicts not as moral, political, or emotional phenomena, but as reproducible structural outcomes arising from hierarchical configurations of cognition. Human cognition is modeled as a relationship between abstract and concrete levels of thinking. When these levels remain structurally integrated, differences are relativized within a higher-order framework and conflicts tend to converge. However, when abstract structures become implicit or fixed while concrete reasoning accelerates, an asymmetry emerges in which concrete differences are essentialized, causing conflicts to become structurally non-convergent. The study further interprets conflict expansion as an increase in “theoretical entropy,” suggesting that persistent confrontation is not primarily driven by hostility or intention but by the absence of structural convergence conditions. By redefining and reintroducing an explicit abstract framework, conflicts may not be resolved directly but instead lose their conditions of formation. The proposed model offers cross-disciplinary implications for social science, cognitive science, organizational theory, and the study of scientific reasoning. This study is positioned as an extension into the cognitive and social domains of the author’s previous work (Matsuoka, Constraint Dominance and Degeneracy of Structural Space under Scale Expansion), which examined the conditions for structural formation in large-scale systems.
