Reports on benthic marine algae diversity and distribution in the Bay of Fundy, suggesting rich marine biodiversity.
Two hundred and forty-five taxa of benthic marine algae, comprising 98 Rhodophyta, 91 Phaeophyta and 58 Chlorophyta, are reported from the Bay of Fundy, Canada. In addition, notes on habitat and distribution, location of voucher specimans and literature references are given for each taxon. The compilation of published records and herbaria data provide the majority of the records while data from personal field work provide additional information on habitat and distribution as well as one new record, Polysiphonia fibrillosa.
