Thesis presents new taxa descriptions in Nova Scotia, suggesting unidentified species exist.
This thesis presents detailed field and microscopic descriptions of twenty-seven taxa of Dermocybe (Fries) Singer of Cortinarius Fries, occurring in Nova Scotia. Nine species and five varieties could not be identified with any species described in the available literature, and have been given provisional names. Seven others are described as eastern forms of species originally described elsewhere. Descriptions are supported by photographs of specimens, scanning electron photomicrographs of spores, and camera lucida drawings of microscopic features. Technical and field keys for the species are provided. Macro-chemical tests assisted in determining taxa.
