Annuloplasty failure risks sustained pulmonary hypertension; leaves open reliable preoperative predictors for tricuspid surgery.
Does tricuspid valve surgery (replacement or annuloplasty) improve central haemodynamics in patients with tricuspid valve disease?
Tricuspid valve replacement and successful annuloplasty provide comparable haemodynamic improvements, but annuloplasty failure is associated with sustained pulmonary hypertension and residual left heart lesions that cannot be predicted pre-operatively.
