Early ACS on echo should not guide infarct size estimates in AMI; leaves open serial imaging utility for tracking course in clinical settings.
Does serial 2-D echocardiography accurately predict tissue infarct size in an experimental model of acute myocardial infarction?
In an experimental acute myocardial infarction model, abnormally contracting segments on 2-D echocardiography overestimate early infarct size and correlate only fairly with tissue necrosis at 48 hours, suggesting it is better for tracking infarction course than predicting infarct size.
