Why the study?
Does the presence of obstructive sleep apnea in patients with metabolic syndrome impair the oscillatory pattern of MSNA and the time delay of the arterial baroreflex control?

Comorbid OSA may worsen autonomic dysregulation in MetS; hypothesis-generating and should not yet change practice.
Does the presence of obstructive sleep apnea in patients with metabolic syndrome impair the oscillatory pattern of MSNA and the time delay of the arterial baroreflex control?
Metabolic syndrome decreases the oscillatory pattern of MSNA and ABRMSNA magnitude, and comorbid OSA exacerbates these autonomic dysfunctions while increasing the time delay of the baroreflex response.
