Demonstrates improved engagement using a business simulation game in financial accounting classes, suggesting enhanced learning experiences.
Practice sets are used in many financial accounting classes. Unfortunately, such exercises are often devoid of business reality and create problems of control for the instructor when many students are solving the same problem. This paper describes an attempt to alleviate these problems by using a business simulation game instead of the standard practice set. The simulation used was the game Monopoly.
