This research investigated the effects of introducing monitoring support devices on night shift staff in facilities for persons with disabilities. Staff behavior and mental strain were observed before and after the devices’ introduction. Results showed that the effectiveness of monitoring devices in reducing physical and mental burdens on night staff depends on both resident disabilities and facility design. Notably, the facility with a higher proportion of intellectually disabled residents and fully private rooms experienced more positive impacts from the devices, demonstrating the importance of matching technology to specific care environments.
