Mdof System Applied Non-Linear Elastic Hysteresis Rule of Multi-Story Non-Compression Braced Frames and Its Equivalent Sdof Reduction

Non-compression (NC) braced frames proposed by the authors have seismic response reduction capability due to elastic strain energy accumulation. This research aims to develop a response prediction method based on an equivalent linearization technique that takes into account the response reduction. In this report, a non-linear elastic hysteresis rule of multi-story NC braced frame is formulated and a method to create an equivalent SDOF system from the MDOF system applied the rule is described. From time history analysis results, representative seismic responses of 6DOF NC braced system and its equivalent SDOF system showed good correspondence.
