Randomized trial evaluates heating effectiveness of a hybrid heat pump system in detached houses, suggesting efficiency benefits.
This paper introduced a hybrid-source heat pump system combining air and ground heat sources in a detached house and evaluated its effectiveness. Key findings include: 1) In air-source mode, pump inactivity allowed rainwater and surrounding soil to be heated by ground heat. After nine days of operation, an eight-day recovery period raised tank water temperature by 5℃, enabling reuse; 2) In ground-source mode, outdoor unit inlet air temperature rose up to 9.7℃, averaging 4.3℃, and stayed 4- 10℃ at night; 3) Tank water dropped 8-13℃, and nearby soil 5-7℃.
