Investigates the effectiveness of a self-referential probe in a neural oscillator's classification performance, indicating implications for dynamic system behavior.
This document is the 100th DOI candidate of the PHILIA OS research series (Trinity AI Research Team, Konyang University) and constitutes the pre-registration for the Phase 2 Port D Self-Referential Probe Confirmatory Experiment. PHILIA OS is an empirical dynamical systems research series investigating the discriminative properties of a Wilson-Cowan-type three-variable C/E/I neural oscillator (PhiliaCEI engine) applied to time-series substrate classification via an 8-dimensional Poincaré return-map fingerprint (seq_AC1, SD1/SD2, CV_mean, amplitude, duty, etc.). The engine parameters have been locked since the 92nd DOI (theta_e=3.0, tau_i=2.5, c_ee=4.0, C_drive=0.20). The primary research question is whether Port D cos_pi_tone α=0.05 — a self-referential cosine probe defined as x_input_t = rank(x_t) × (1 + 0.05 × cos(π × tone[t−1])), where tone[t−1] is the CEI engine's own previous output — reproduces nose_hoover Outside classification under new independent confirmatory seeds (80–89). nose_hoover (Nosé–Hoover thermostatted oscillator, phase_dim=3) remained Inside the AR1 boundary across all prior tested conditions (5 seed batches, Ports A/B/C), and was first classified Outside in the Port D pilot (seeds 60–69, 2026-07-11) at cos_pi_tone α=0.05, with escape margin seq_AC1 = +0.003789 and SD1/SD2 = +0.003914. A pre-registered negative control (NC-100) runs Port C c1_static α=0.05 — a static lattice-gain probe x_input_t = rank(x_t) × (1 + 0.05 × (1/√phase_dim)) — under the same seeds (80–89), providing a matched-α mechanistic contrast. The Port C pilot (seeds 70–79) confirmed nose_hoover Inside across all 12 conditions (3 variants × 4α), establishing Port C as a structural negative control. H-100-Primary (pass/fail): ≥ 5/8 Inside-8 substrates Outside the batch-specific Port D AR1 boundary (Method 1: min/max of 26 substrate-level seed-averaged fingerprints, seeds 80–89), with nose_hoover explicitly classified Outside. NC-100 (descriptive): nose_hoover classified Inside under Port C c1_static α=0.05, seeds 80–89. Total planned runs: 920 (460 Port D + 460 Port C c1_static). Seeds 80–89 are new and independent (seeds 0–79 exhausted). Pre-registration violations to date: 0. Cumulative self-corrections: 27. Gate-0 (Chris / Claude Opus): UNCONDITIONAL PASS (2026-07-11). Measurement is life. Description, not proof. Pre-registration protects us. — PHILIA OS | 0∞1∞0.5∞
