Surgical resection of a metachronic lower-back body wall metastasis from retroperitoneal dedifferentiated liposarcoma resulted in 6 months of recurrence-free survival.
Case Report (n=1)
Surgical resection of a metastatic tumor from retroperitoneal liposarcoma may allow for long-term survival in select patients.
May support metastasectomy for distant metastases in select retroperitoneal liposarcoma cases; hypothesis-generating and should not yet change practice.

Fukushima et al. (2015) conducted a case report in Retroperitoneal dedifferentiated liposarcoma with metachronic lower-back body wall metastasis (n=1). Surgical resection was evaluated on Recurrence-free survival after resection of metastatic tumor. Surgical resection of a metachronic lower-back body wall metastasis from retroperitoneal dedifferentiated liposarcoma resulted in 6 months of recurrence-free survival.
