Conscious animal models including dogs, sodium-depleted cynomolgus monkeys, spontaneously hypertensive rats (SHR), two-kidney one-clip hypertensive rats, DOCA/Salt hypertensive rats, and a high renin model of primate hypertension (bilateral perinephritis).

Fosinopril (or its active moiety SQ 27,519) administered intravenously (0.5 mg/kg bolus plus 0.1 mg/kg/min) or orally at various doses (1.5 to 17.6 μmol/kg or 10 to 30 mg/kg), alone or in combination with hydrochlorothiazide.
