Original strategic board game develops cognitive skills through movement and tactical positioning in two-player competition.
Duel of Buffalo Traction (DuTraBuff) is an original strategic and tactical board game concept created by Doumbia Amara from Côte d’Ivoire – Africa. This project presents a two-player competitive experience based on movement strategy, spatial control, tactical positioning, blocking mechanisms and an innovative traction system that allows players to influence both their own progression and the opponent’s advancement. Designed around the symbolic universe of two buffalo herds engaged in a strategic duel, DuTraBuff transforms animal strength into an educational and intellectual challenge. The game encourages players to develop essential cognitive and social skills through play, including strategic thinking, anticipation, logical reasoning, decision-making, problem-solving, risk management, concentration and adaptation. Beyond entertainment, DuTraBuff has strong educational potential as a learning tool based on experiential and playful pedagogy. By interacting with the game board, players learn to analyze situations, evaluate consequences, plan several actions ahead and understand the relationship between decisions and outcomes. The game supports the development of spatial awareness, tactical reasoning and the ability to create effective strategies while respecting rules and opponents. The project can be used in various educational contexts, including schools, educational game clubs, cognitive development activities, family learning environments and strategy workshops. It offers an innovative approach where learning emerges naturally through experimentation, observation and strategic interaction. Through its original mechanics combining movement, traction, blocking and territory control, Duel of Buffalo Traction (DuTraBuff) demonstrates how board games can become meaningful educational experiences that connect creativity, culture, strategy and intellectual development. This document presents the game's identity, concept, mechanics, innovations, educational benefits and development potential. It represents an official presentation portfolio intended for publishers, investors, manufacturers, educational institutions, game professionals and potential partners interested in innovative board game creation.
