A system of three coaxial coils for producing a large region of uniform magnetic field is described. The coil formers are all alike, and the outer coils are both wound with twice as many layers of turns as the central coil. All three coils are connected in series - an advantage over the author's earlier three-coil system. Design data, and an example of its use, are given.
