Supports 5-HT3-mediated reflex bradycardia in rabbits; leaves open translation to human cardiovascular control.
In unanaesthetized rabbits, 1-PBG selectively excites myocardial and pulmonary afferents via 5-HT3 receptors, causing reflex bradycardia and hypotension primarily through decreased peripheral resistance.
