The detection of small and thin solid slag inclusions in a material is, in general, difficult and it may become a critical task when the component under inspection has complex geometry and/or small dimensions. The attention of this note is focused on the use of back-side heating lock-in thermography for nondestructive evaluation of components with thin inclusions.
