Why the study?

Research on integrating digital health technologies into cardiac rehabilitation for patients with unstable angina undergoing PCI remains limited.

Does a multidimensional digital cardiac rehabilitation program improve functional status, frailty, and quality of life in patients with unstable angina undergoing PCI?

Population

164 enrolled (136 analyzed) patients with unstable angina undergoing PCI

Comparison

Nurse-led multidimensional digital cardiac rehabilitation program vs usual care

Design

Prospective emulated target trial with propensity score matching

Overview

May support digital CR post-PCI in UA; hypothesis-generating pending RCTs.

Structured PICO

Does a multidimensional digital cardiac rehabilitation program improve functional status, frailty, and quality of life in patients with unstable angina undergoing PCI?

P
Population
136 patients with unstable angina (UA) who successfully underwent percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) and had cardiac function grades 1 to 3, mean age 70, 43.38% female, based in China. Excluded patients with previous PCI, age outside 18-74 years, or cardiac function grade 4.
I
Intervention
Nurse-led multidimensional digital cardiac rehabilitation program (7 components: exercise, medication management, nutritional guidance, psychological support, sleep management, health education, and smoking cessation assistance) delivered via bedside tablets during hospitalization and WeChat after discharge, over 3 months.
C
Comparator
Usual care (standardized treatment and routine nursing care).
O
Outcome
Changes in the 6-minute walk test (6MWT), 12-item Short Form Health Survey (SF-12) scores, and frailty phenotype scores at 3 months.surrogate

A nurse-led multidimensional digital cardiac rehabilitation program significantly improves short-term physical fitness, frailty status, and lipid profiles in patients with unstable angina post-PCI.
