Fever can unmask Brugada syndrome ECG changes, which resolve upon treatment of the hyperthermia, highlighting the importance of recognizing and treating febrile triggers in susceptible individuals to prevent life-threatening arrhythmias.
Fever can unmask Brugada ECG changes in sepsis that resolve with treatment; leaves open prospective validation of arrhythmia risk and screening.
There are various triggering factors like fever, hypokalemia, ischemia, cocaine abuse and medications which unmask the ECG changes and these changes are usually transient. There is increased possibility of this cardiac rhythm to deteriorate into life threatening arrhythmias. Thus it is essential for the clinician to be aware of the conditions. We present such a scenario in which hyperthermia unmasked our patient's Brugada syndrome.

Tummala et al. (2017) conducted a case report in Brugada syndrome (n=1). Fever vs. Afebrile state was evaluated on ECG changes (ST segment elevation). Fever induced by sepsis unmasked a type 1 Brugada ECG pattern in a 53-year-old woman, which completely resolved upon treatment of the fever and infection.
