Population

4 patients (aged 86, 84, 80, and 60 years) with severe mitral regurgitation due to posterior middle scallop prolapse (P2) in mainland China.

Intervention

Transapical off-pump NeoChord procedure (artificial chordae implantation) via left mini-thoracotomy guided by 2D and 3D transoesophageal echocardiography.

Outcome

Procedural success (reduction in mitral regurgitation severity) and postoperative complications.surrogate

The transapical off-pump NeoChord procedure is feasible and safe for treating severe degenerative mitral regurgitation in the Chinese population.
