Why the study?
Cardiac tumors originating from the aortic valve are rare, prompting this report of successful valve-sparing resection.
Simple excision of a papillary fibroelastoma on the aortic valve can successfully preserve valve function without the need for valve replacement.
Successful valve-sparing excision of aortic PFE is feasible; leaves open optimal management of incidental mobile lesions.
