Why the study?
Primary cardiac papillary fibroelastoma is relatively rare and often found incidentally, prompting this report of valve-sparing resection for multiple tumors discovered during follow-up of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
Valve-sparing excision is a feasible and effective treatment for multiple mobile papillary fibroelastomas in the aortic valve and left ventricular outflow tract to prevent embolism.
May support valve-sparing excision in select fibroelastoma cases; hypothesis-generating, requires prospective validation before broader adoption.
