A type II Brugada ECG pattern induced by acute pericarditis completely resolved within two weeks following treatment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and colchicine.
Case Report (n=1)
Acute pericarditis can induce a Brugada phenocopy that completely resolves upon appropriate treatment of the underlying pericardial inflammation.
Pericarditis may induce reversible Brugada phenocopy; single case leaves open need for prospective ECG studies before diagnostic change.
Brugada phenocopies are interesting clinical entities with electrocardiographic (ECG) patterns indistinguishable from the inherited Brugada syndrome. In patients with Brugada phenocopies, these ECG patterns are expected to resolve with resolution of the underlying condition.

Shehadeh et al. (2020) conducted a case report in Acute pericarditis and Brugada phenocopy (n=1). Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and colchicine was evaluated on Resolution of Brugada ECG pattern. A type II Brugada ECG pattern induced by acute pericarditis completely resolved within two weeks following treatment with nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and colchicine.
