In a rat model of acute myocardial ischemia, local noradrenaline release contributes to myocardial injury, though its relative impact may be marginal in the setting of severe ischemia.
Limitations
- Injury produced by extensive and nearly total ischemia in this model is so severe that the additional effect of myocardial adrenoceptor activation may be only marginal.
