AV fistulas can develop rare angiosarcomas following kidney transplantation.
Case Report (n=1)
Highlights the rare but severe complication of angiosarcoma developing in an arteriovenous fistula post-kidney transplantation, emphasizing the need for continued monitoring of AV fistulas.
Supports heightened awareness of rare malignancies in AV fistulas after transplantation; leaves open evidence-based monitoring recommendations.
After transplantation, the main concerns involve immunosuppression, the prevention and treatment of infections and graft rejection, and tumor prevention. Sometimes the complications that may appear in the arteriovenous fistula are neglected following kidney transplantation. This is the reason why we are presenting the case of an angiosarcoma developing in an arteriovenous fistula after kidney transplantation. It is a very rare case and our goal is to create an alarm so that after kidney transplantation clinicians do not lose sight of the patients' previous history.

Costa et al. (2017) conducted a case report in Angiosarcoma in an arteriovenous fistula after kidney transplantation (n=1). Arteriovenous fistula after kidney transplantation was evaluated on Development of angiosarcoma. An arteriovenous fistula can be the site of a rare angiosarcoma development following kidney transplantation, highlighting the need for clinicians to monitor patients' previous access sites.
