Increasing age was associated with higher enterovirus D68 seroprevalence rates in a supplementary analysis of a 2017 cross-sectional study.
Highlights that enterovirus D68 seroprevalence increases with age, supporting findings from a recent systematic review.
We read with great interest the systematic review on seroprevalence of enterovirus D68 (EV-D68) by David Jorgensen and colleagues in The Lancet Microbe.1 The results of our previous cross-sectional study from 2017 are in line with those of other studies in the Review, demonstrating higher seroprevalence rates with increasing age.2 As a supplementary analysis, we calculated the age-stratified geometric mean titres (GMTs) using the original data of our study. The serotitre less than four was assigned the value of 2 and the serotitre more than or equal to 256 was assigned the value of 256.

Lee et al. (2025) conducted a letter in Enterovirus D68 (EV-D68). Increasing age was evaluated on Seroprevalence rates and age-stratified geometric mean titres (GMTs). Increasing age was associated with higher enterovirus D68 seroprevalence rates in a supplementary analysis of a 2017 cross-sectional study.
