Key result
Phosphocreatine plus meldonium is linked to an average LVEF of ~65% in post-COVID cardiovascular syndrome.
Why the study?
To study the clinical features of post-COVID cardiovascular syndrome and evaluate the efficacy of combined adjuvant targeted mitochondrial cardioprotective therapy on long-term prognosis.
Does phosphocreatine followed by meldonium improve clinical symptoms and myocardial function in patients with post-COVID cardiovascular syndrome?

Does phosphocreatine followed by meldonium improve clinical symptoms and myocardial function in patients with post-COVID cardiovascular syndrome?
Adjuvant therapy with phosphocreatine and meldonium may improve myocardial function, perfusion, and clinical symptoms in patients with post-COVID cardiovascular syndrome.
Mitochondrial cardioprotection was associated with symptom relief in post-COVID registry patients; leaves open efficacy pending randomized trials.

Oynotkinova et al. (2022) conducted an observational in Post-COVID cardiovascular syndrome. Phosphocreatine (Neoton) infusion followed by oral meldonium was evaluated on Clinical dynamics, myocardial contractility, ejection fraction, and perfusion. Complex therapy with phosphocreatine infusion followed by oral meldonium in patients with post-COVID cardiovascular syndrome increased ejection fraction to an average of 65% at 2 months.
