Two near-identical road traffic accidents linked to recurrent Tako-Tsubo syndrome in one patient.
Why the study?
Tako-Tsubo Syndrome typically affects women with anxiety after stressful events, but recurrent episodes following similar stressors are rarely reported.
Tako-Tsubo Syndrome can recur in the same patient following similar stressful triggers.
Recurrent Takotsubo possible after repeated identical stressors; Level 5 evidence leaves open generalizability and requires prospective confirmation.
Tako-Tsubo Syndrome (TS) is a reversible cardiomyopathy that typically affects women with a history of anxiety, who have experienced a stressful event up to five days prior to presentation. We present the case of a woman who presented with recurring episodes of TS following two near-identical road traffic accidents, four years apart, including multiple imaging modalities.
