Methods: the calculation formulas were selected using the calculation methods of global manufacturers of modern mixing equipment, taking into account the updated data obtained during the long-term operation of existing wastewater treatment plants and supplemented with calculations of missing parameters necessary for design. Results: a methodology has been developed for calculating and selecting mixing devices with the definition of a complete list of parameters for design (including taking into account the calculated recirculation coefficients, technologies with different doses (concentrations) of activated sludge, recommendations are given for the placement of mixing devices in containers of various configurations and volumes, recommendations for determining the number of mixing devices. The developed methodology meets the requirements of SP 32.13330.2018 for calculating the parameters of wastewater treatment plants. Practical significance: the results of the work are important for design, as they simplify the selection and justification of mixing equipment, as well as for the reconstruction of existing structures (when replacing imported mixing devices with domestic ones).
