Objective: This study aims to analyze the influence of academic supervision by school principals and teachers' work motivation on improving the quality of learning in Surabaya State Junior High School. The research objects include school principals as the implementers of academic supervision and teachers as learning actors with work motivation as a mediating variable. The method used in this study is a quantitative correlational approach with data collection techniques using Likert scale questionnaires. The results showed that academic supervision (B = 0.310; p = 0.009) and teachers' work motivation (B = 0.497; p < 0.001) had a positive and significant influence. When viewed together, the two variables (F = 35.893; p < 0.001) were able to explain 45.8% of the variation in learning quality. Work motivation had a larger coefficient by standard (β = 0.504 compared to 0.255). The novelty of this research lies in the application of an empirical model that integrates academic supervision and teacher work motivation simultaneously in the context of Surabaya State Junior High School, which has not been widely researched before. This research makes an important contribution to the development of education management science, especially in the aspect of improving the quality of learning.
