A person's degree of contentment is proportional to the gap between their expectations and the actual performance. Past experiences, family remarks, promises, and information from different sources can all contribute to shaping customer expectations. The purpose of this quantitative cross-sectional study was to examine the relationship between nurses' performance and inpatient satisfaction in 2024 at Doloksanggul Hospital in Humbang Hasundutan Regency. From January to April of 2024, the research period commenced. All patients receiving care made up the population in this research. There were 6,712 inpatients in 2024, with 559 patients per month on average. In order to determine the minimal sample size of 88 respondents, the minimum sample formula from lemeshow is used. At Doloksanggul Regional Hospital in Humbang Hasundutan Regency, inpatient satisfaction is influenced by assessment, nursing intervention, and appraisal of nursing. The most important variable in this connection is nurse implementation. In order for nurses to make accurate observations about their patients' health, it is essential that they establish open lines of communication with their patients during assessments. This will ensure that patients are able to respond appropriately to the questions asked by the nurse and that family members are involved in the process of developing a nursing intervention plan, both of which contribute to positive relationships and higher levels of patient satisfaction. We expect the administration of Doloksanggul Regional Hospital to be able to provide regular training sessions for all of the nurses. These sessions should cover topics like cognitive, interpersonal, and psychomotor skills. If the nurses are well-prepared, we should see an uptick in patient satisfaction and an improvement in the oversight of standard operating procedure (SOP) implementation. Using nursing as a basis for nurse evaluations.
