Does 18F-FDG uptake measured by simultaneous PET/MRI predict functional outcome at 6 months in patients after acute myocardial infarction?
18F-FDG uptake in infarcted myocardium evaluated by PET/MRI may represent a novel biosignal of myocardial injury that inversely correlates with functional outcome.
In this study, the intensity of (18)F-FDG uptake in the myocardium after acute myocardial infarction correlated inversely with functional outcome at 6 months. Thus, (18)F-FDG uptake in infarcted myocardium may represent a novel biosignal of myocardial injury.
