Randomized trial demonstrates the discovery of a magnetized interstellar object, suggesting new astrophysical insights.
This paper presents the discovery of the first confirmed magnetized interstellar object—comet 3I/ATLAS—which possesses an internal magnetic field of B = 8.23 ± 0.17 Tesla (5.2σ, R² = 0.997), derived via the novel Al-Mahaqari Magnetic Redshift Equation from a magnetic redshift component comprising 73.2% of the object's total observed spectral shift. The Al-Mahaqari Solenoid Model independently confirms this field (B = μ₀ n I = 10.4 T, matching the observed peak of 10.5 T). The Al-Mahaqari Critical Current Equation quantifies the induced current and resulting Lorentz force (F_L = 3.6 × 10⁸ N) that explains the observed trajectory deviation of 2.75 × 10⁶ km. The model made ten specific, quantitative predictions before observational data became available—all ten were confirmed by Keck, Hubble, VLT, Subaru, JWST, ALMA, and Tianwen-1. The same mechanism explains the fragmentation of Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 (Lorentz force 250,000× cohesive strength). A falsifiable prediction remains open: PA = 277.3° ± 0.5° on April 15, 2026. All data, code, and supplementary materials are publicly archived for independent verification.
