Nifedipine should not yet be used to target diastolic function in HCM; leaves open net hemodynamic effects in asymptomatic patients.
Does nifedipine improve left ventricular diastolic function in asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy?
Sublingual nifedipine reduces afterload and increases ejection fraction but does not improve left ventricular relaxation and slightly increases end-diastolic pressure in asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
