Post-procedural TIMI flow grade 2 did not significantly improve 36-month mortality compared to TIMI 0-1 (21.31% vs 25.56%) in NSTEMI patients undergoing percutaneous coronary revascularization.
Why the study?
Does achieving post-procedural TIMI flow grade 3 improve mortality compared to TIMI flow grade 0-2 in patients with NSTEMI undergoing PCI?
Observational (n=2,767)
Yes
Does achieving post-procedural TIMI flow grade 3 improve mortality compared to TIMI flow grade 0-2 in patients with NSTEMI undergoing PCI?
In NSTEMI patients undergoing PCI, achieving final TIMI 3 flow is necessary to improve survival, as TIMI 2 flow is associated with mortality rates similar to TIMI 0-1.

Karwowski et al. (2016) conducted an observational in Non-ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (NSTEMI) (n=2,767). Post-procedural TIMI flow grade 2 vs. Post-procedural TIMI flow grade 0-1 was evaluated on 36-month all-cause mortality (p=0.55). Post-procedural TIMI flow grade 2 did not significantly improve 36-month mortality compared to TIMI 0-1 (21.31% vs 25.56%) in NSTEMI patients undergoing percutaneous coronary revascularization.
