Sustainability-Oriented Human Resource Practices: Exploring the Role of HRM in Achieving Sustainable Organizational Goals Dr. Sanskruti Kadam Associate Professor, Sasmira's Institute of Management Studies and Research, Mumbai Abstract Sustainability has emerged as a strategic priority for organizations seeking long-term competitiveness, environmental responsibility, and social well-being. Human Resource Management (HRM) plays a critical role in integrating sustainability principles into organizational practices by aligning employee behavior, organizational culture, and business objectives with sustainable development goals. This paper explores the role of sustainability-oriented human resource practices in achieving sustainable organizational goals. The study examines key HRM functions, including green recruitment and selection, sustainability-focused training and development, performance management, employee engagement, and reward systems that encourage responsible workplace behavior. Through a conceptual review of contemporary literature, the paper highlights how sustainable HR practices contribute to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, employee well-being, and organizational resilience. The findings suggest that organizations adopting sustainability-oriented HRM practices experience improved employee commitment, enhanced corporate reputation, greater operational efficiency, and long-term business sustainability. The study emphasizes the strategic importance of HRM in fostering a sustainability-driven organizational culture and supporting sustainable organizational growth in an increasingly dynamic business environment.
