Why the study?
Sustained AF and catheter ablation are known to decrease baroreflex sensitivity, but baseline differences between paroxysmal and persistent AF and the modifying effects of ablation remained to be evaluated.
Does catheter ablation affect baroreflex sensitivity differently in patients with paroxysmal versus persistent atrial fibrillation?
Does catheter ablation affect baroreflex sensitivity differently in patients with paroxysmal versus persistent atrial fibrillation?
AF ablation may lower BRS more in PAF; leaves open its value for recurrence prediction or patient selection.
